IQor is a collection agency. To stop the harassment do the following.

Send a voice message to their 800 number (as long as you like) request that they and their associates stop calling. Request that they communicate any legal and or billing information by mail so that your attorney can address it. Stipulate you do not do business by phone. Also fax a letter of the same content to their 800 number for incoming faxes. You can send it to any iQor 800 number.

I recorded my voice message on my computer and used a free auto dialer to deliver it.

What makes this work is you resend the fax and the voice message every time they call. If they call three times in a five minute interval then send they the voice messages and three faxes. Since every time they call you they are asking you for a response. You are free to call once for each of their calls. They will receive charges from Bell for every incoming 800 number call.

When their staff calls you state I will not deal with you over the phone and hang up.

iQor will scream at you over the phone in order to provoke an angry response. iQor records their calls. Should you end up in court the only parts of the recorded calls that iQor will have will be of you screaming and their personal talking calmly. It is impossible to prove this type of entrapment so my advice is do not talk to them at all.

PS: If all victims of iQor follow this advice it may be possible to put the company out of business. (Force them to re-invent they self under another name.)

Last note: The bills that they tried to collect from me came from Rogers. I have never done business with Rogers.

I understand these incessant, daily automated calls are a pain in the ass. I completely agree and think it is a bad thing... meh

If you are being called, it means your phone number is in a file in collections -- that much is clear.

If you don't care and just want the call to stop, just call back and tell them to stop calling.

If you want to know why your phone is in there, you'll have to confirm your identity with them. Either the file isn't yours and the number is a wrong number (in which case it will be removed also), or it IS your file, and then you can see if you want to dispute it, take it up with the initial creditor, or anything else.

In any case, you can call from a private number and ask them to remove the phone number on file, so that even IF it is yours the automated calls will stop and you'll have more peace of mind in dealing with this. :)

I keep receiving recorded messages from Iqor on my answering machine that say 'it is very important that you call us at xxxx phone number'. I have learned that this is a collection agency but have no idea why I am being called - I have never been in arrears for any amount of money. The recorded message gives no other information, which makes me suspicious - if this was a legitimate call, wouldn't they have a live operator?

these calls are harassment and have happened daily for the past month. what should I do? I hesitate to call them back as it will give them a 'live' contact and I don't want the calls to escalate.

Suggestions?

Just PM me the phone number you're being called at, I'll look up the file in question and confirm it is not yours, then I'll remove the phone number.

Alternatively you can call them, and simply state "This call is recorded, this is my phone number, do not call again", though in this case you still won't know why they were calling you -- and I assume you'd want to know. :)

I have been receiving calls from this company. They called out of the blue one day, They asked who I was, and I asked who they were looking for, and the man would not say. He kept insisting to know my name and my date of birth. I asked where he was calling from, again he would not answer my question. So I told him if he did not tell me where he was calling from I was hanging up. When he refused, I hung up.

I know who he company is because I was looking for information on what to do if you are on the Do no Call list and call centers keep calling..And I happened to recognize a number they had listed for IQor. And that is how I know these people are the ones calling...I do not understand why they are calling me. I have no delinquent bills with anyone. I have a phone, that is paid to date. Everything else is included in my rent. I have a line of credit at my bank and the account where the payments come out always has at least 60 dollars at all time over the payment amount. And the bank has my info to contact me. And they will not tell me what they want without my giving them my name and date of Birth. Which I am refusing to do.

They call starting at about 8 am in the morning and continue through until 8 and sometime 9 at night. When my answering machine picks up all that is on the line is static. I did answer one morning while half asleep and said hello 4 times and got no response. I hung up an got out of bed to get my glasses and the number was the one from this company.
Which is 1-866-294-1752
I receive between 10 and 20 calls a day.

What can be done about this annoyance?

Iqor and many collection agencies are terrible for re-aging debt. If Iqor is trying to collect from you try to verify from the original creditor when the account first came delinquent. If it's past 6 years, beg them to send you something in the mail indicating that.

If they do, dispute it in writing with Equifax/Transunion using the document as evidence.

If the don't send you the evidence, you can still dispute it but they will only validate the debt with Iqor and they will obviously continue to lie but you might get lucky.
