Penny stocks require even greater attention than other stocks, which require at least daily attention.

Penny Stocks

Postby JohnMathew » Thu Sep 09, 2010 03:21:55 AM

Penny Stocks usually have bigger spreads in the bid/ask prices so you don't always buy or sell the stock at the price you want. A little bit of news can send the stock swinging sharply in one direction.Penny stock market trading is dependent open buying and selling and it is also dependent upon an agreed upon price for the sale of the stock. In a bullish market, which is a very powerful positive market, share prices will be high and investors who have purchased shares prior to the high prices tend to make good returns on their investment.

In the United States of America, a penny stock, also known as a micro cap equity,[1] refers to a share in a company which trades for less than $5.00.[2] While this is the official definition, and is used by the US Securities and Exchange Commission, generally every full service or discount broker, and the vast majority of analysts and institutional investors, there are other more loosely held criteria applied by the general public and most retail investors. In other countries the term may be used differently, without reference to US institutions.
