Yes, I am agree on your advice. Some investors don't have good skill in stocks but they are spending too much time in watching the report. If they will spend half of time from this then they will at good advantages. No failure.....

For beginners in investing, it would be safer to invest in a mutual fund. Normally, a diversified (less risk) mutual fund is a mix of different stocks, bonds, and cash. Funds are managed by professionals. On the other hand, funds may have less return on investment. Non-beginners in investing could try to analyze stocks by themselves. It takes time to become a good investor; also investing in individual stocks is riskier. Some advices available http://www.addaptron.com/articles/how-to-become-successful-investor.htm

Stock investing is a learned skill

From my very limited exposure to stock investing, it is a learned skill.
You have to spend a considerable amount of time with it to get proficient.

In perspective most people spend 40+ hours at their jobs each day and don't think anything about it. In my opinon, if you spent 40 hours per week reading about, learning about and practicing stocking investing, you would be pretty good at it in just a few months.

That experience then would carry you for the rest of your trading career.
