Maui is the very best place in Hawaii to see the whales. The 32nd Annual Maui Whale Festival, a tremendous hit with locals and visitors alike, offers many opportunities for up-close and personal sightings of Hawaii’s largest visitors.

With more than 30 events, activities, and cruises spread out over a six-month period, everybody--from children to scholars and biologists--will easily find something of great interest here. The festival is presented by the Pacific Whale Foundation, a non-profit organization in which membership really does have its privileges: some events are “members only,” and others may be attended by PWF members at a discount. You may wish to consider joining the Foundation, to take advantage of the “kamaaina” (local resident) treatment enjoyed by members.

I'm a little confused by your post; are you spending $20,000 per month and paying it off in full when the bill arrives? You mention minimums as well so I'm not sure if you care carrying a balance.

FYI - if you are carrying a balance and just making minimums thats a path to deep financial trouble: http://www.totaldebtfreedom.ca/articles/article_3.htm

If you want a good earn rate for your travel and you are billing $20k/m Amex is the way to go. Don't worry about any annual fee it will pale in comparison to the reward points you earn for travel.

Travel Rewards going to Hawaii?

Postby Maybelle » Tue May 04, 2010 02:16:32 AM

I came across this forum and I think this is the best spot for me to convey my concerns. My husband and I are using non-travel credit cards. We have been using our credit cards on all our transactions even online. We have been spending more than $20,000 credit card bills every month and did not even remember receiving any freebies or cash rebates at all. We don’t even miss any minimum amount payment every month. How frustrating it can be?

My co-worker once told me her vacation spree get way with her husband when they both visit Paris two years ago. I was surprised when she told me that they’re plane tickets were free due to their accumulated travel rewards credit cards. Even if their annual fee is a little bit high with MBNA card, still it becomes an investment for the both of them. With her story, I was convinced to get the same credit card like hers.

Can you please help me get my own MBNA travel rewards credit cards as well? I want to use it in all my transactions for me to collect redeemable points for our planned vacation in Hawaii next year. Chris and I have been working so hard for our two kids and we wanted to have a break from it. We have paid vacations for two weeks but, still it is wonderful to save pennies on buying our costly plane tickets. Isn’t it?

Are there any travel rewards credit cards available aside from MBNA that offers low annual fees? Which card is perfect for us? Please advice.

Thanks.
