Good man; I wrote it on the fly out the door; it's 6 years, not 6 days. 6 days was all I could put up with Elaine.

Just for the record....we all know Hank meant to say 6 years and not 6 days.

Clearly he is flustered too. LOL

Elaine8888 eh? I don't think so. He doesn't know enough obsceneties.

The credit bureaus will report it for 6 years from the ORIGINAL default date, A payment within 2 years, or any time afterward for that matter, doesn't affect the reporting period, Ottawa Chap. Yes, the Credit Reporting Act of Saskatchewan does allow a 6 year period from the date of any last payment, [See below] but clearly, that would discourage people from settling their debts by creating an obvious negative incentive so the bureaus don't follow that.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Information about any debt if at least 6 years have passed since the date you last made a payment on that debt or, if no payment has been made on that debt, since the date the debt was incurred....

You will always owe the debt, but it is too late for them to do any legal action to recover it. He can bug you forever but won't if you just ignore his calls. Hang up.

And OC....I believe your right...lol

I have no idea who this Elaine person is lol.

Okay thanks for the advice guys. I just really wanted to know what to do "now" cause I can't pay the full amount but I can in a few months. What do I tell CBV? I tried monthly instalments but they are being ugh about it.

Hank, T.J., I'm willing to place a friendly bet here that Debilitation has a sister named Elaine.

Aside from that, Debilitation, this little default is going to stick around on your credit reports for 6yrs from the date of original default - unless you paid or acknowledged (in writing) this debt within the first two yrs of default. You're near it falling off your reports right now, however, pretty much the best you can get at this point is a note indicating the debt has been paid or paid in full.
Infuriating one C/A at a time..

So I don't owe this "Amar Singhe" anything from CBV?

So yes to your first question. Then yes.

So that's how it works, I don't owe anything? How does this effect
My credit though?

You are not listening. When you first defaulted on payments was it at least 2 yrs before you made the 100 dollar payment?
If it was next time they call tell him to go to hell....bank no longer holds this debt if 4 yrs has passed, it was sold for pennies on the dollar to an Old Debt buyer....the guy who is calling you.
Since you opened account in Ontario it falls under Ontario's Statute which is also 2 yrs.
