I have not made payment on this account for at least 6 years. How would I get this amended then?

According to report last payment was 06/2011.
Therefore add 6 years from that date....because a payment restarts the clock on Statute.

Also what is the statute of limitations for suing on this date based on the current information listed on my credit bureau?

So I am stuck with this on my credit bureau 6 years from the date that I finish paying it off which could be another year? Feels like being penalized for paying it back.

So to summarize:

Trade Line - original debt will be off my credit bureau 2015-12

First collection - Last active date 2010-01 would not be removed until 2016-01 if I do nothing further with them

Second and current collection - Last Active date 2011-06 would be removed 6 years after I make final payment

As the 2 collections are listing last active dates that are inaccurate do I have any recourse in having these reset to the last payment date/default date of the debt to ensure this does not stay on my credit bureau any longer than necessary?

Again very much appreciate your clarification.

Item comes off from bureau in BC. 6 years after last activity ...which if you pay it off is last activity not from 2009....unless you did nothing. In Ontario it is 2 yrs.
No you can not remove other agency as it was a valid post at that time.

I'm a little confused.

Do the collections have a different shelf life on your credit bureau than the original debt then?

I may have been misunderstanding things but thought that the collections tied to the original debt should come off your credit bureau at the same time as the original debt which according to my credit bureau would be 2015.

Also if I settle with the current collection agency can I do anything about the second listing for the same debt?

Sorry to keep hounding with questions.

It is normal to have listings from several collections for same debt on report.
They will stay listed for 6 years.
If you were to pay the most recent agency off in full today....it will be listed 6 years from today ...but with a notation that it was paid in full. If you decide to pay it off...insist on that notation on the file as part of your agreement to settle.

Listings on reports can not be removed unless they can be proven to be false.

The last active date of 2009 for the original trade I believe to be wrong as I haven't made a payment on this debt for many many years. Is it possible to obtain confirmation of this date from the original creditor?

Can I have one of the collections removed if they sold the debt?

Will settling with the existing collection agency have any impact on when this debt will fall off my credit bureau? I owe approx $2300.

Will the collections be removed in 2015 at the same time as the original trade item?

I apologize for the questions but really want to understand this fully as in 2015 I would like to be in a position to purchase a home.

I appreciate your time and knowledge more than I can say!

As it stands even if you get those dates corrected...it will be atleast Dec 2015 before these come off your credit report.

They still have plenty of time to sue.

Alot depends on size of debt as to wether it is worth throwing good money after bad.
