Save your money, the book will be in a bin for free at the main door of your favorite department store in the New Year.

hey everyone get the book: "The Wolf at the Door: What to do when collection agencies come calling" your library likely has it...it's written by former Canadian collector Mark Silverthorn and it will make you feel 100% better and show you what to do!

I also just got called by CCL financial. I owe $14000. They told me they bought the debt from MBNA and if I don't pay by Oct 26 (6 days) they will take legal action. I moved and so have not received any phone calls or letters so this is the first time I'm finding out that I'm now dealing with CCL. I thought I was still dealing with MBNA and have been sending them a payment every 2-3 months whenever I could. I just sent them one this past Friday via online banking. They offered me a settlement of $10000 if I pay by the end of the month or else they will file suit. I do not have $10000 and they are telling me I need to get if from citi financial and it's at a high interest rate. I don't want to do this nor do I even think I can get it. So now what do I do? I really don't want to go to court. There is already an R9 on my report for this.

How old is this debt, when did you last make a payment on it...be specific and have you acknowledged this debt in writing and signed in the last 6 years?.
