You wouldn't attempt ski diving without instruction, would you?

Do not use a credit card until you have a good grasp of your contract. "You are best off not using the card until you understand the terms, so try to slog through that thing,"

It's a guarantee you will have difficulty interpreting the fine print. As you read the contract, underline parts that are incomprehensible, take notes and then ask the card company for clarification. "If you don't understand the contract, the issuer needs to explain it to you,"
NEVER throw away card agreements and amendments. You will need to refer to them.

Study your credit card contract

Postby montyloree » Wed Aug 03, 2005 12:00:00 AM

I got my new replacement credit card for my GM TD Visa the other day. Included in the envelope was an updated version of the contract.

My initial reaction was to throw it, because it looked like an ad for something or other. Once I saw that it was the credit card contract, I put it aside to read. After all, it is what I am agreeing to every time I use my credit card!

If you haven't done so already, it's a great idea to get a hold of the contracts for your credit cards and read them over. Each credit card supplier has slightly different terms that you have to agree to.
