The department has various branches dotted across the country that help out people. There is also a Labour Program that supervises the conditions of the labor force of the country. The department also looks at the facilities offered to the employees. They look to create policies that help better the condition of the employees. The department also conducts research on human resources and to improve its management.

The importance attached to human resources has increased drastically over the years. More and more organizations look at human resources as important tools to success rather than as an auxiliary committee. The human resource management and development are being given higher priority.
