Ok, so I started a new business this year...and couldn't get business checks because of a couple of things on my personal credit report. One of the things I know what it is...but when I tried to get my credit report online, I was denied and told to call. So I called....and she told me she couldn't verify my identity so she couldn't help me. I tried Trans Union and Equifax and both denied me. I sent in a request for my report by mail and never heard anything back.

I contacted my bank today and she was kind enough (even though I know she's not allowed) to give me all the details of the trouble spots. So this company is Contact Resources. I've never had any contact with this company EVER. I don't even know what the debt is for....it's only $1320 and they last reported on August of 2007 to the bureau.

How do I contact these people?? And if I've never had contact with them....is it allowed to be on my bureau? My dad passed and left my family insurance and my husband and I paid EVERYTHING off. We pulled a report back then. It was 2 years ago today.

I told my mother in law to get a hold of her equifax and transunion credit reports to see if these hacks have reported anything..First thing I will be doing is writing a letter directly to this company to cease all contact, next will be the BBB and on and on.. :)

I would contact the credit bureau consumer relations and let them know they are abusing the system or consumer afffairs. They will change their tune then.

Well their notice to my mother in law was recieved by her last Friday, so I suspect the phone calls will start shortly. I've already advised her that as soon as they start she should allow it to go through then put her phone down and go about her business till they hang up. They'll tire of it shortly and won't bother her after that. Like I said, this account is 14 years old..If it wasn't worth taking legal action with the first collection agency that held the account, it certainly isn't worth squat now.

I agree with you they are the biggest losers i ever seen. The tactics they use is ridicilous.I think their licence should be revoked for unfair practices.I also have a debt and i can't believe the rudeness this company has towarsds people.I think there should be a petition signed and then sent to consumers affairs or havew cbc look into it.

My mother-in-law was just contacted by this company regarding a 14 year old credit card she had with a former boyfriend who passed away 10 years ago. She assumed it was paid as nothing has been reported to equifax or transunion. I tried today to call CRS to inform them that this debt is statute barred and to cease any further contact with her. The collector of this account "Kim" kept me on hold for over 30 minutes, I hung up and called back and requested to speak to a supervisor and got the same run around. I worked for a collection agency a few years back and there was no WAY my boss would even bother with a 14 year old account. CRS seems to be financial bully who counts on the publics ignorance of the provincial and federal collection laws in order to collect debts that reputable agencies wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole.
