Agreed....

I think it's the chisel effect.... Chiseling small pieces at a time.

That's one of the reasons I put up this site, was to educate people and get them acting. I was seriously disappointed by Brian Pitkin's response to my inquiries.

sorry XDebt_Collector, I should have read your post a little more closely.

IMO, if Ontario justice gets a bonafide dispute letter that meets their requirements, they MUST act on it. If not, you go to your MLA and make complaints there.

QUESTION: XDebt_Collector, Did you get any response back from Ontario Justice? A letter that explains their plan of action/(no action)

The point XDebt_Collector was making was just that he did have tapes as evidence and Pitkin still wasn't interested. He then wondered just what would it would take to get the Ministry of Consumer Protection involved.
Well, lets see..... if collectors commited mass murder, terrorism, robbery (but only with hostages), mayhem or kidnapping, then Pitkin MIGHT actually get off his ass and make a phone call or too.

It seems to me that when Monty spoke to him last year, he said it wasn't exactly a big, big, big, big....(47 more "big's").................big, big, big priority with his office.

And that's the real reality of it.

All information was provided to Brian Pitkin in writing and I forwarded taped recorded conversations as well to him. Monty that was a poor response that you received from Brian Pitkin. I don't know what it would take to convince Brian Pitkin that any agency has willfully broken the collection legislation in Ontario.

XDebt_Collector,

Brian Pitkin's response to me on these matters was this...
"Not enough people complain about it in WRITING" (to make it official).

If people don't complain about their collection agency or credit bureau problems in writing, the government won't deal with it.. Governments work on statistics... if enough people are complaining about something the government will get involved.

However, people have to complain in writing to make the statistic official..

Raymond doesn't like this logic, however, that's the reality of it.

I have had the pleasure of receiving a phone call from Contact resource prior to the 6 day rule. I would like to know if anyone else has had the same pleasure. If so drop me a note. From my previous experience with the ministry they will do nothing to deal with such abuses. I use to believe that the ministry was created to stop abuse and investigate concerns of debtors and others that had information to prove that the agency wasn't following the legislation that had been imposed to stop agency's from abusing the consumer. I was wrong. Even with taped conversations and dates and times provided to the ministry about such abuse fell on deaf ears. I will be posting the conversation that I sent to the ministry on here in a little bit. The purpose is to let others be the judge if they believe the agency overstepped there boundaries. I have no idea what evidence one would need to have an agency be reprimanded by the ministry in ontario. I know that in Alberta they take abuse very serious. Why not in Ontario?
