Monty, let me put it this way: my polling results are accurate to within 1 part in 32,874,564.
Looking at "averagejoe's" last 4 "helpful" insights
1. Deanna Natale and co. are a pleasure to deal with.
2. The great majority of collection agents are also a pleasure to deal with - except for a few grinches who get forced out anyway because they don't make any money being nasty.
3. I'm actually undercover and in league with creditors and collection agents in order to assist them in getting bigger settlements
4. All debts can be settled for 10%
I would definitely agree the rest of his assertions are as accurate as the above 4.
In fact, what's more likely to happen if you owe one of the banks a lot of money is what averagejoe reports in his Jan. 10, 2008 post; ie.

I had a rbc visa that i defaulted on and the bank sent it off to a lawyer here in town and he placed a judgement against me.The judgement is for $10,000.I am not working at the present time and off for medical reasons.I approached to them to settle this debt and i'm waiting to hear back from the bank laywer. I gave them a list of assets and liabilities and i do own a home and the mortgage is not with them. The liabilites are more then my assets and i have no equity in my home.I do have home and auto insurance so it's no big secret i owned a home so they could of put a lien on my home when they got the judgement a year ago.Is it in their best interest to settle up now or put a lien on my home? I would like some input on my matter from people that had this experience.

I'm not sure what he means; in the above post, he tells us he already owns a home (albieit a financed one); yet in today's post, he tells us he is looking forward to buying a house when he can afford it.
