Apparently First Canadian Finance has been reported to the Better Business Bureau a number of times in the last month and a half....

The link is the BBB site which has contact numbers, address, and email addresses for management.

Also, their address doesn't show up on a reverse search or a google search. Not even with an old business attached. I'd lay very strong odds that the address doesn't even exist, and that they will either have you send the money to a different address or this is an identity theft site.

Again, the site is littered with grammatical errors - the site author seems to barely have a command of the english language, claims to be in operation for 20 years, yet can't be found with a yellow pages search (or any other directory for that matter), and, most damning of all, the "application" page isn't even a secure encrypted page (otherwise it would start "https" rather than "http").

Awfully strange for a company that claims to be one of the largest north american companies in operation over 20 years. I think it may be time to make another scam loans company report.

I ran a reverse search on their phone number, and it didn't turn up... at all. I ran a google on them, and pulled up a site on Yahoo Answers where somebody has asked about them, and was informed that First Canadian Place (the building they're supposedly operating out of) is very interested in finding them.

I'd wager my next paycheque that it's a scam.

Tried looking for them too...don't know if they're not there, or they don't exist. They list their address as 100 King St. W. Suite #3101 Toronto, ON M5X 1A1. The rest of the building is financial, but I can't find them. What a shocker. Damned internet....

I'm finding internet info that they may be a scam... no info on them on the net. Use the links provided when you asked about Trans Canada Loans for the licensing agencies that would be able to tell you if they're licensed and legit... but my gut says give them a miss.

Have you tried Citifinancial? How about Wells Fargo? Canadian Tire has probably the easiest to get unsecured mastercard out there.

If you don't mind sharing and know it, your hubby's credit score might help to know who might deal with you with that score.

If this company is asking you for money up front it is a scam. That is illegal (wasn't years ago when I almost got scammed) and a reputable company will NOT ask for money up front.

Monty I saw you read my message, do you have any comments? Sorry to seem so desperate but my husband doesn't think he could quite yet get a loan from the bank.

Has anyone ever heard of this company or ever had dealings with this company? Their website is very nice and seems to be quite legit. Family just had an experience with an internet scam, and I can't find anything wrong. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places! Please let me know ASAP.
