TCR spent some money in getting the appeal heard and then salvaging some savings on the ordeal but the question is will they be compliant in the future?
I personally think that agencies learn from this. I was in the business for years and the press in this situation is bad for business. Every time they call on a client, this issue will come up.
If TCR is as bad as some of you say, why isn't there more press stories - is it because no one speaks up or is having a debt in collection still have the stigma it did years ago - a debtor once told me dealing with agencies was pennance for past lapses in judgement or bad karma.
In any case, I have a blog over at
http://www.askabillcollector.com and we're open for business, it's a news aggregator with some comments from the bill collector - me.
I'm glad Monty has this site and I'm hoping to find a second home here.
To start things off - if you are contacted by a bill collector and rightfully owe the bill then pay it and don't complain about the call. Remember the fastest way to get a bill collector off the phone is to tell them you'll pay...
