Hey Laura,
The Boiler Room
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0181984/
From a corporate perspective, a collection agency is a bunch of "bums in seats". You need "X" number of people employed to collect $X of receivables to make $Y amount of profits.
As long as you keep the seats filled, you'll make a certain amount of money. That's the way you would look at it from a shareholders perspective.
The collection agency has to make itself attractive to collectors enough so that they keep a constant stream of collection agents coming in to fill those seats.
I get a feeling that only a few people are hard core enough to stick around and be collection agents.
In that respect, collection agencies are similar to the movie The Boiler Room!
