To pay or not to pay

Hi everyone,

After 7 years of not living in the country, I have now decided to return and need to ammend a few of my financial mistakes that I made when I left....

I've just checked my transunion credit report and it shows two delinquent accounts:
1) A credit card account -

Condition: [Derogatory]

Balance:

Type: Revolving account

Pay status: Bad debt/collection/skip

Last date of activity: April 07 (30 days late in April, "CO" in Aug 2007); Reported 2008

2) OSAP - Condition: [Closed account] ([Transferred])

Balance:

Pay status: Paid as Agreed

Last date of activity: May 07; Reported in 2009

Now...I'm wondering when the 7 or 6 year time that the records no longer appear on my credit report will be? Will it be on the last payment I made? The reporting date? When the file went delinquent?

Is it funny that neither of them show the balance owed?

Also, I am more than willing to pay these debts now as they're fairly small. Should I pay or should I wait until they go off of my credit report? I will be paying the OSAP debt regardless as it's with Canada Revenue Agency now and I want that taken care of, being government and all....but should I pay now or wait? What about the credit card? Pay or wait???

Also, I tried to get a secured credit card with RBC but was declined :( Any other suggestions on how to bring my score up? I'm only planning on moving back in 2-3 years, but am trying to plan in advance and improve my credit situation beforehand.

Thank you for any help or suggestions!!
