Hey Peabo,

I'll be honest, it's fun to scream at collection agents.

However, screaming is not going to get the debt paid , or items correctly removed from your credit report.

Screaming is good to help take the offence and not let the collection agent get the upper hand.

The business side of things means that you have to do your research, and be writing letters to the correct authorities in order to get things done.

The goal is to not let the collection agency intimidate a person. A person who is well educated to the laws, and their rights won't be intimidated.

If you're that confident with your skills, then you can have fun with the collection agent and get them to work for you.

Here's the thing to always remember... if you owe money with unsecured credit, you're in the drivers seat. Unless it's a big amount that you'll get sued and have judgement taken out against you.

Ray,

You are very well spoken, but we have different methods of dealing with these people.
I like to get right in their face, and not take the 'political', or 'politically correct' route.
These people have no scruples, and in fighting them, you have to mimic their behaviour.
You do your thing, and i'll do mine....not because I feel i'm going to get anywhere, or win anything, but simply because it amuses me. It really does amuse me :)

Comments re your post:

1. You were way too soft, nice and generous in calling them "bottom feeders" However, it's probably not a good idea to put explicit language on this website as you'll get the owner mad and it will derogate from the civilized decorum he tries to maintain.

2. Save your Jesse,"the Body" Ventura remarks of "telling like it is" for the telephone. Don't waste your time with emails. Get the guys direct number and a couple of his bosses. Easy to do with a little creativity. Phone 'em up and give 'em the truth. If they can't handle it, that's their problem, not yours. Your spontaneous "ten for one" idea brought a cheer to my heart. Oh, what the hell, make it twenty. Collection agents are telephone terrorists and the way you fight any kind of terroroism is with force, not diplomacy. See how long they last. Unkind words maybe, but war is never pretty. The necessary use of just and sufficient force in self defence theory. Man bites dog. They can dish it out but they they can't take it.

As a case in point, did you see how Deanna Natale, who's running a country wide collections scam from her boiler room er, I mean professional law office in Markham, was quick to phone in when her home phone number was pasted on this website last week? She managed to insulate herself from angry victims through layers of telephone numbers, but when her direct home phone number was pasted on the forum (courtesy of an ex-colleague), suddenly she realized she might be subjected to the same treatment she unconscionably subjected others to. You most fear that which you give out. The Golden Rule got to be too much for her and so she was quick to phone the website owner, wrap him around her finger and fenangle him into removing it (though she didn't completely succeed).

3. Don't give collection agents personal information about your assets. I own this or I have that etc. The more well off you are the more you need to fear your credit standing being tarnished. A lot of this stuff they can look up any way, although for stuff like Rogers, they won't bother.

4. Forget that "8 bucks an hour" stuff. They make (notice I didn't say earn) a lot more.

This fool was dumb enough to give me his email address!!
So, I wrote him and email stating my feelings towards collection agents as a whole.
He wrote back to me thinking that he hit the nail on the head with who had actually written him the email. Unfortunatly, as is par for the course with collection agents being dumb as they are, he has the wrong guy. SHOCKING!
Below is my letter, and after that his response.
As if his threats mean anything.
Again his name is Jason Vital, and his email is JVital@contactresource.com if you care to drop him a line.

*************************************************************
I keep getting phonecalls from your lowlife bottom feeding company.
I will NEVER pay you a cent. Never!
I dont care about my credit at this point because I have a house, 2 cars,

every credit card you can think of, and no other debt.
I got screwed by Rogers, and i'm not going to get screwed by you.
You may want to try and take on another account, because there is absolutly

no chance of me paying a dime of the amount you claim I owe.

Get a real job you 8 dollar an hour whore.
*****************************************************************

Your email and intentions towards this matter is all being documented and unfortunately collection activity will continue on this account until Rogers retracts the account or you obviously take responsibility and pay this.

Thank you.

Jason Vital.

Hey Jason, go get a real job like the rest of us. Or do you like that dirty little call centre you work in? How much is minimum wage now anyways?

Collectors are only good for screwing people, not lightbulbs.

Maybe somebody should invent collection agency condoms.

- Collection agency prophylactics...

Ever considered crossing the street bros? You seem to have all the qualities they're looking for to make a great collector.
