royal trust as liquidators of estates

WARNING against using ROYAL TRUSTas the liquidator of estates. they assumed the liquidatorship of my aunts estate sept 25 2006(she passed away nov 2005)this because the original liquidator lives in US and mishandled it) her estate was bank accounts, gic"s no property involved all cash.it is costing 10X the amt to settle it(as opposed to using a notary) Because of the delay there are investments that have not earned interest since july 2005 others since sept 2006. as it stands now they have not collected any of this money and are in no rush to do so. Protocol is the excuse i get . They also seem to be afraid of using the phone to call other banks. i will be claiming back the interest from them. I called the investment firm that held the investmnts in JAN 2007 and they had no idea that the royal trust was the liquidator and had been holding an interest chq since july 2006.(royal trust assumed this estate sept 2006) I worked for the royal bank for ten years but i am amazed at the level of Incompetence that they have displayed. though they were well aware that the estate was late they handled it as though it was not. To handle this properly and in the best interest of the estate the paperwork needed and letters outining the urgency of the situation(no interst being earned) should have been sent out to those banks who held investments no longer earning int immediatly. instead only in january did the paperwork go out. They are unable to think outside the box. all these investments are held by local banks in montreal.as it stands now we are not even sure if they will be able to distribute at the 6 month mark. To be honest anybody would have done a better job than them. .If they can not collect cash gic investments in montreal imagine how long it would take them to settle estates that involve property or money in another province or country.
