yes it is legal to send them a "CEASE AND DESIST" letter. make sure you include the name of the creditor, your account # with the creditor, iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency 's reference #, your name, and your mailing address.

it would be advisable to send it as a registered mail that requires a signature from the recipient that you can always access on the internet. now, if after you sent and they received the letter they still call you. file a ministry complaint and attached a copy of the letter and the acknowledgement receipt that someone from their company did receive the letter. also, request from iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency a copy of the telephone call. they are legally required by the law to provide the recording if the customer/debtor request for it.

We're receiving regular calls from this agency in BC over a speeding ticket in Washington 1.5 years ago. Anyways, I read at the Canada Office of Consumer Affairs, that if you send a signed letter stating NOT to continue comunication via telephone, and to only communicate via mail (you provide an address), that they have to stop calling. I faxed them 3 days ago, and of course, they called again today. I repeatedly asked them over the phone if they received the fax, and they never said yes or no....just things like "i don't know". Very sneaky.. So are they breaking the law? If so, every single person on this website should fax a letter over to them all....end of phone calls in Canada!
