Hey Joan...
Great points...

Financial planning really comes into focus when you run into a bad time and need money. All of sudden, all of the good advice about keeping reserves comes into play.

Sometimes people have to live through a bad time financially to get fully understand that point.

What we're trying to do here is educate people and help them learn from other's experiences.

The onset of the credit age has left people with alot of debt , and not much formal education with how to properly deal with it. Dealing well with credit hasn't been engrained in our daily lives yet. Sometimes learning the hard way will teach ourselves and the future generations the lessons of how to deal with credit properly and wisely.

Debts in a collection agency just dont happen over night..you probably have been ignoring your creditor for some time, and that is your fault..if you talked to your creditor they probably would have worked with you...your statement also suggests you need to learn how to better budger your money when you are working again so in the event of a layoff you have the funds to maintain your home and bills for 3-6 months..talk to a financial counsellor or your banker on ways to do this.

CBV collections are unbelievably ignorant

I'm sorry... I shouldn't complain like that. But I'm wondering who gave CBV collections a license from GOD. They give you the impression that they were trained in heaven. Blessed by the almighty.. I'm sorry if that's crude. I've never dealt with such arrogant people in my life.

Look... I'll pay my bills... I'm broke right now... I was laid off... it's not my fault. I'm starting a new job in 3 days... I'll pay my bills. That's my final answer.

CBV collection can take a hike. sorry.
