Can't help you regarding the Wells Fargo issue. But I can tell you that, regardles of where you are living - there isd a privacy act and it says that you cannot be called before 9:00 am in the morning and 8: pm at nigh (please check your provincial laws for exact times) Also, yu cannot be contacted at your place of work if you request not to be. You need to go the consumer protection site of your province. There are laws to protect you in these areas. I am fairly sure that the laws are federal and are 'tweaked' to conform with provincial laws'

Hope you found this info useful

Good luck

Rights of a Credit Collection Agency

Postby gildom » Wed Aug 30, 2006 12:00:00 AM

My first time on this site, and I must say that I did find a lot of your information useful and reassuring, especially when dealing with Collection Agencies and their incessant phone calls. I am curious though, and hope someone can help me on this one. We signed up with a credit repair company and listed all the creditors and amount owing, one particular company Wells Fargo, did not agree with our consumer proposal, we fell short in making our payments to them, so they revised our "contract" and the amount owing to them significantly decreased, but for the amount outstanding they have turned it over to NAFS of Canada collection Agency, I question this as, we still receive a statement from Wells Fargo outlining all the payments made via NAFS (of whom takes a percentage)? Does this scenario means I have to put up with all the phone calls that start before 7:30 in the morning and now at work?
