I dont know the specifics of your case but for the most part, legal action is not taken however it is possible.

To better understand your situation, when did the debt go delinquent, was the debt written off?

I was wondering if anyone here has or knows someone who metcredit brought proceedings against? If so how long from their last call did it take to receive court papers and were the court papers mailed or served personally?

For years I had extremely good credit, but of course with job lose it went bad fast. Well I owe over 13,000 to a credit card. Have made small payments but nothing near the minimum amount so they've sent it to metcredit who in turn wants the full amount now which I don't have and I have tried to work out payment arrangments but they say its to late for that and if I don't come up with the full amount I owe today they are beginning court proceedings.

Any advise?
