Shoot...Codee
You just MADE me waste an hour of an early gloomy sunday morning!!! Only kidding..
Using "portamedic" as a search term...I got 580 hits!! I only checked out the first 100 (g) and what I almost continually found is that the term portamedic is actually a NAME of a company...parent company Hooper HOlmes in New Jersey...
This industry provides "onsite" exams etc for the "life and health insurance industry"...ie you apply for a policy..and someone is sent out...to do an evaluation,,,,collect data...blood and urine specimens,,EKG etc...and then the
info is relayed to the company you want the insurance from...this info is used to "assess risk and make informed decisions"...ie should they insure you..and if so...how much will you pay!!
At no site I could find under "portamedic" did it even talk about this being sorta like going to a doctor's office for care....tho one would think that IF the examiner was a licensed MD (which some are ) AND they happened to have a script pad with them...that they COULD write you a script....but somehow I doubt that many if any would do that...as their liability could be cloudy...not to say it can't happen,,,tho..
Also in my search I was led to lots of "online pharmacy" sites....
I found them to be of several types (the sites I mean)...either...one was BUYING a list of "overseas,,,Mexico ..Canada..etc" sites or actual
pharmacies....on NO site was the actual COST of obtaining these lists ever mentioned!!! One had to "enter" the order portion of the site...then I guess you would be told what the "membership or registration" fee was....
In fact..on several of the sites I checked there was a clear disclaimer: YOU ARE BUYING A LIST...also they ALL stated "no refunds"...ie we don't guarantee that you will be able to find the med you want!!
As I said..the Canada sites ARE reputable (tho from the prices I saw...they weren't that cheap!!)
The Canadian sites, tho, DO require a script from a US doctor!!! then the scripts are rewritten by a CAnadian doc (some but not all sites say they will be calling your American doc to verify the script...which you fax or mail to them..along with picture ID and credit card info). So if you need an american doc to write the script...your only saving might be on the med itself..
BTW ...all the Canadian sites state "NO controlled substances"
NOw there were other links to other countries...ie Mexico...etc and some them did have controlled substances listed (ie Valium)...however...then one would be taking a large risk that the US customs would seize the shipment..and confisicate...and of course you would lose whatever money you had already sent or charged...
In fact...doing a search on google "meds online" will give you lots of similar info...I am sure SOME folks have been successful this route....however....it is a big risk...
so on to do something ELSE this sunday morning...have a great day!!
