I recommend that people save their money and pay cash for things. Chances are if you need a secure credit card and you probably don't have enough money. Many people that get secured credit cards have bad credit, and that means they don't have enough money to pay their bills.

If you don't have enough money to pay your bills then don't get a secured credit card. If you're honestly trying to build your credit score, then you need to pay off all your credit cards first, save more than enough money for the security deposit and six months worth of payments for the secured credit card. This may take a long time to do, but you'll be a much better financial situation if you do it.
