Bank Collecting on old Credit Card

Postby hangingin » Thu Mar 25, 2010 09:18:01 AM

Here's my problem. I apparently have an old Visa debt (last activity 2002). On Mar 18th of this year I deposited 500+ dollars into my account, then on the 19th it disappeared. TD Visa went into my account and took the money. I don't understand how they can do it. This debt is 8 years old, isn't it barred by the statue of limitations. The bank also told me that TD Visa had written off the debt. How many years do they have the right to go into your account...10, 20, 30...forever? There is no judgment issued by the court.

I've never acknowledged the debt (had a letter from Natale {lawyer} last year but they refused to send any paperwork proving I owed anyone anything). Is it possible to get my money back, how do I handle this?

Best regards,
