I don't think you can apply for credit if you have not been discharged from your bankruptcy.

the answer to this is yes and no. If you just filed for bankruptcy and are not discharged you'll not be accepted for a secured credit card. If you've been discharged from bankruptcy and yes you will be accepted for a secured credit card. Generally you have to wait for him nine months to be discharged from bankruptcy. So there's a little waiting period there.

my recommendation is to take the waiting period and save up the cash reserve so that you can have money in hand to use as a security deposit to put down on a secured credit card such as Capital One MasterCard or HomeTrust visa

I'm just wondering if you can still apply for a secured credit card if you filed for bankruptcy? I know that you can apply for a secured card if you have past bankruptcy to re-establish your credit score. But what if you're still under bankruptcy?
