Citibank Mastercard

Postby Gianni007 » Mon Jan 04, 2010 04:20:07 PM

I recently made a purchase using my citibank mastercard for $700 but never received the product. It was suppose to come in the mail and never arrived. I tried to deal with citbank on the matter, explaining that I did not receive the product and that the $700 charge on my mastercard should be reversed (based on their "insurance" policies). I filled out one of their so called "complaint" forms and the $700 credit was made to my account (but only temporarily). Now the charge has re-appeared on my account because the vendor has argued that I could receive the product if I did something else. Anyway to make a long story short, I don't want to deal with this vendor (who I now believe to be sleezy) and won't be buying from them anytime soon and because of the "lack of" customer service provided by citibank mastercard, I have cancelled my card. When I cancelled the card I explained that it was their lack of customer service, their failure to take my word over the vendors and also told them I will pay off all of the amount outstanding on my credit card (about $5K) except for the $700. Firstly, I would like to know if my credit rating will be affected and secondly I would like to know what, if anything, the credit card company will do to me to recover this $700 (which I refuse to pay).
