Any Canadians getting sued by US credit card companies?

I brought some US credit cards with me when I moved to Ontario and then became a Canadian citizen. I'm struggling financially and had to stop paying my US credit cards. They're coming after me now. Has anyone experienced something similar and do Canadian/Ontario courts grant judgments to US credit card companies against Canadians? Thanks.
US citizen by birth - Canadian by choice.
