Such a loaded topic but I think Canada made the right choice to support the bailout. If Canada didn't contribute then GM might be willing to reduce GM production in Canada further.

It makes sense for Ottawa to participate when Canadian jobs "could" be on the line.

Were the Canadian politicians here just trying to keep Barack Obama's admin happy? Why on earth would tax payers vote to spend that much money on a bankrupt company?
