No, you don't have to use the form they provide you. I dispute items on my report by writing a letter to the.

Make sure it:

1. Put the letter Attention: Investigations Department
2. Sign the letter
3. Include a copy of 2 IDs with the letter. (i.e. drivers license, passport)
4. On the letter make sure you have your:
-Full name

-Current address

-Date of birth

Then you can mail all this information to:

TransUnion Consumer Relations Department
P.O. Box 338, LCD1
Hamilton, Ontario
L8L 7W2

You can also fax to: (905) 527-0401

I always fax it. TransUnion is a lot slower in responding than Equifax. They normally take about 3 - 4 weeks to get back to you.

Investigation Request Form

Postby sharehard » Wed May 06, 2009 10:17:58 PM

I received my credit report from Transunion and am ready to dispute it. Do I need to use their Investigation Request Form. It seems to me that in doing so I am agreeing that if they don't satisfy my complaint then I can have my 100 words and that is that. I don't want to agree to that so I do not want to use their form. If I send them a NOTICE with all the info they need on it will they investigate or do they need their form?
Thanks,
Chris
