I was reading some different articles about Life Insurance and New Orleans. then I saw your article on the main page about bad credit and new orleans. being in Canada I am really insulated from New Orleans. But the point hit home really well.

New Orleans is like a huge amount of people who lost their loved ones all at once. It's much more than an isolated case. I mean that I don't know lots of people who die in a years time. Maybe a relative or two and a few friends parents but that's all. It's really hard to get a sense of the urgency of life insurance and how it can affect the beneficiaries lives until you see it in a huge natural disaster such as Hurricane Katrina.

If there are 10,000 people who died and let's say half of them had life insurance. That's 5,000 people who will receive life insurance money to rebuild their homes and their lives. That's pretty significant. And... when you look at the devastation that they're living in, it really brings it home as to how much they need it. These people have nothing. They've lost everything. They're at the mercy of the government.

As far as getting into control of your life the way it was previously, life insurance money may be the only way some of these people are going to get back on their feet.

My heart goes out to all of the New Orleans victims. I just wish I could go there and help out some how. They look like they really need help from many people.
