Once a judgment is filed and placed in your credit file, it comes off your credit file six years from the date it was filed whether you satisfy the debt or not like it states on the Equifax site. The judgment that was placed against me is good for ten years unless they renew it for another five or ten year. Even if the judgment is good for ten years it can only affect my credit for six years from the date it was filed.

credit repair faqs

Postby montyloree » Fri Jan 02, 2009 12:25:30 PM

I'm frustrated and excited all at once :)
I started off to install the new faq system..
The javascript broke so it will take me a few days to get it fixed, as I know nothing about javascript.

Here's my comment.

I'm liking the FAQ format... it's all about asking specific questions, which require specific answers.

From my experience some of the answers are pretty vague, and need to be judged upon by consumer protection. IE.. you can see what the act says, however, getting the act enforced is entirely different

Thanks for the link average_joe

ottawa_chap... do you have specific questions, or answers for my FAQ area?

Well, thank-you for posting the Equifax general FAQ link. I can see this link serving as a good starting place for those with general questions about credit reporting.

Unfortunately for the topic at hand, we still lack the in-depth answers that will put this discussion to rest. As you can see, this excerpt is identical to what is printed on the Equifax credit reports; hence we’re still at square one. We haven't clarified how the reporting works when a judgment is renewed?

"JUDGMENTS, SEIZURE OF MOVABLE/IMMOVABLE, GARNISHMENT OF WAGES: The above will automatically purge from the system six (6) years from the date filed. "
Infuriating one C/A at a time..

It seems that we've brought a good point here...

a good debate would be helped out by a set of questions and answers that we have verified as complete, correct and true..

It's always nice to have a set of standards to follow

To Answer Monty's Question....Great..Excellent...Keep up the Good Work!!

How about making a "point system section" so the rest of us can put a "point value" to the bitch sessions?? To be fair we'll call them "Debates"
I think everyone's opinion's are valuable and want to hear them all. It is "my discretion" as to what i believe and as everyone should do, "use the info as guidance". Keep Smiling fellow Members :)
PS I do love a good mud slinging but i'm out of my league here,LOL...

Ottawa Chap

If People want to question my comments, that's fine. Equifax will not print things out to mislead people. I know my facts are correct for the simple fact when I was in discussions with the creditors and collection agencies in the past they didn't like the fact I knew what I was talking about. I settled over 12 debts for 10% I must know something.
