Bogus Email Spam regarding Royal Bank - Caution!

Postby montyloree » Sat Aug 13, 2005 12:00:00 AM

I received this email today.
It's another spammy, scam email targeted at naive consumers.
Royal Bank or any other Banks do not usually send out emails of this type.
If you take a closer look at the link that is on the email, it takes you to a bogus website where these people want to collect your information.

NOTE: They even use RBC's real logo to make the email look authentic.

If you get an email like this, you should report it to icann.org - Internet Corporation For Assigned Names and Numbers, the RCMP fraud unit and the RBC bank that it's talking about.

BELOW This is the scam spam email.

RBC Royal Bank

2. Review your recent account history for any unauthorized withdrawals or deposits, and check you account profile to
make sure not changes have been made. If any unauthorized activity has taken place on your account! ! , report this to
Royal Bank staff immediately.

the entire Royal Bank system. Thank you for attention to this matter.
