Been away for some time. Aside from spending loads of time working with my yearling stud colt and not installing the 14 boxes of laminate I have purchased for my home, I do have an update on my lawsuit...
The collection agency originally offered to "forgive" an uncollectable debt and pointed out how I didn't have a leg to stand on and how much money it would cost me in legal fees to lose. I think it took me 10 minutes to respond that their deal was a joke and was unacceptable.
Today, I have an email offering me 2K (a joke amount, but still cash), no legal costs, of course, and the standard confidentiality clause.
I have responded that a confidentiality clause is unacceptable. What is the point to taking these guys on, especially settling for a pittance of cash, and not being able to use it to tell others that they can fight back?
