Hi Ray,

I had read that post prior to posting - I think I am missing something.

How do I prove to Equifax that the date of last payment is incorrect? Can I simply call them and ask them to refer to the older credit report? Can I send them a copy of the older Transunion report as well?

Or do I need to contact Activ and get them to prove the date?

I want this off my bureau as soon as possible but I just am not sure how to go about it properly - I do not want to risk these people calling me at home, work, etc on this clearly stats barred debt that is well over 6 years old!

thanks again.

argh - Activ Kap reporting wrong date! Help!

Postby jenn660308 » Tue Aug 19, 2008 04:53:28 PM

Hi All,

Love this forum - lots of great advice...

Here is my situation...

I had an R9 on my Equifax credit bureau that I pulled in late 2006. The date of last activity reported at that time was June, 2001.

Completely stats barred and was going to purge in less than one year so was advised by a credit counsellor to leave it be and fall off.

Fast forward to today. Received my Equifax report and lo and behold, under the heading "Public Records and Other Information" is this debt reported by Activ and the date of last payment is April 2003!!!

Can I have Equifax refer to a previous credit bureau to see that clearly the information is incorrect? This is absolutely ridiculous...

I am totally ticked as I have everything else cleaned up - TU is reporting me at 740!!

Now I have this on my report.

Any advice? What is the process to get this rectified? How can these guys just go ahead and make up the date? argh.

Thanks.
