I don't think capital one likes giving back the security deposit unless you close the account. If anyone has ever had deposit returned, I would like to hear from them and how long did it take.

You can't apply for a second Capital One card while you already have one.

If your card was not secured you could ask to switch between cards but with a secured card you have to wait until they decide you are good to go.

Capital One does not give out information on how long this takes except to say for some people it is a year and for others five or more years.

My suspicion is that they check your credit every so often and once you break ~720 they return your deposit but I have nothing to base that on other than the tiny sample of people I know who had these cards.

Can you switch your Capital One Secured Visa to the Capital One Secured Rewards Visa??

I'm wondering if this can be done. I recently applied for the Secured Visa with Capital One.. after submitting the application I realized they also had a secured visa where you earn rewards. Can I switch from one to the other once I receive the card.. or do I have to wait a time frame to apply for the Rewards card.. OR.. am I only allowed to have ONE secured visa with Capital one??
