No laws that you have to deal with a credit bureau

Postby montyloree » Fri Aug 12, 2005 12:00:00 AM

Did you know that there ARE NO LAWS saying that a credit bureau such as Equifax Canada or TransUnion Canada has to report items on you.

This means that Equifax Canada and TransUnion Canada can only report on you by your contractual consent.

You must give a credit reporting agency written permission to collect and or disclose information about you by law. There are a few exceptions to this such as law enforcement agencies etc.

Not sure about your situation... please contact your local Dept of Justice Consumer Protection office.
