I am interested to hear from others how they managed to build up their emergency funds. I am also interested to hear how long it took to do this.

I'm getting a sense that emergency fund saving is a bit of a learning curve. As you start to figure out ways to save money and be creative, you'll start to put more into your emergency fund?
