Collection Agencies don't report to your bureau?

You're kidding right?

Funny, An online Transunion (and Equifax) credit report has an entire section called "Collection Accounts", while the "by mail" version of the TU credit report has a section titled "collections".

Not only will the credit issuer list things as an R9/I9 (whatever) but the collection account MAY be listed by the collections agent (I've seen all sorts of duplication on a friends credit report with entries by both the original creditor and the collection agency).

Collections agencies don't report to your bureau, lenders and utility companies do. If it isn't revolving, installment or open credit, the bureau will also show who the agency is.

The reason you didn't get anything from the agency may be that they have an old address for you. And if your bill states $600 on your bureau, I can bet you it will be a lot more due to interest. Call Rogers and get an explanation. Find out what agency it's with (as it may have been moved on to another agency -- Rogers shifts agencies approx every 90 days). If they can't provide you with details for the charges, like ranzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz said, file a dispute claim with Equifax and TransUnion.

Laws???

I just pulled up my credit report for the first time in a couple of years. To see that iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency has resported me in collections on my credit report.

Do these people not have to contact you by writing, or by phone in order to put something like this in your credit report? I thought they did by law!

Aparantly I owe about $600. I did have a Rogers phone back on 2002 - but I cancelled it in GOOD STANDING! Im not sure if this is an error or what, because I found a couple other errors in my credit report today - 1 is my year of birth and another aparantly I lived in Ontario 2 years ago, but I havent!
