• Canadian Dollar - Another Record High Level 1.0722 !!

The Canadian Dollar hit another record level against the U.S. dollar today. It reached a high of $1.0722 or .9326

    $1 CDN = $1.0722 USD

This happened during the day on November 2, 2007

I called Bank of Canada yesterday, and asked them about these high levels and the conversation is listed below.

    Listen Now! : 4.5 minutes

The lady at the Bank of Canada mentioned that they only have the dollar recorded since 1950. If you want history prior to that there is a book titled: A History of the Canadian Dollar by James Powell

Today's high rate came after the previous high level of 1.0617 which was on October 31, 2007

It's interesting when the Canadian Dollar gets into unprecedented highs. These are historic levels !

IMO... when the Canadian Dollar hits an all time record against the US Dollar, that's something to talk about.

For many small businesses , we do business with the U.S. and not Great Britain, Germany, Africa etc. I personally get affected by the U.S. dollar / CAD changes.

These are interesting times we live in.!!

Actually, if you check the CAD against all other widely traded currencies in the past year, I think you'll find that it has increased against all of them. Our movement against the USD has certainly been the most dramatic, expecially as seen from our US-centric perch north of the 49th; but it is also the greatest percentage increase of any major currency against the USD in 2007 (hence my contention that you'll find the dollar doing well elsewhere). I've briefly checked the CAD against the Euro, the Pound, and Yen, and found the trends to be the same across the board. I won't post numbers here - go check them out it's half the fun!

So again feel sorry. and wish Good Luck to Canadian $ for future.

Well, in one respect the USD is going down, however, the point of this post was to point out that the Canadian Dollar is at historic levels against the USD, for which we are excited.

The Bank of Canada doesn't have the dollar recorded at this level.

Thanks for the comment.

I think it is US $ which is going down and down , all other currencies are staying at the same rate :)
