I just received this email from a person who read our website and thought that we were Takhar collection agency. I DO get mail and email from individuals and companies who think that Canadian Money Advisor is a collection agency or some form of debt consulting firm.

While we do discussion collection agencies and debt settlement etc, we're nothing more than a website that hosts this discussion. It's a vital service required in Canada!

We are not a collection agency, and are not associated with any collection agencies , debt settlement companies etc.

I can appreciate that the business of collecting is not a pleasant one at times but I believe that a level of professionalism is important in all lines of work.

To my surprise, I received a telephone call from "Amy" who was looking for my former neighbour, Patti Bryant. Apparently, Patti had given my name if Amy needed to get in touch with her. I recorded Amy's contact information and asked her the name of her company, which she gave me and advised this was an investment company. I found this telephone call peculiar and after further research, I deduced that the motive of this call was for a collection. I looked on the internet and found, what I thought, was the new telephone number for Shawna Bryant and called Amy back with the intention of passing this on. I asked Amy if the company was a collection agency and she said yes, but emphasized that there are investments too. I told Amy that I found a number but I did not appreciate being lied to. Amy became defensive, raised her voice & told me that if I wasn't going to give the number than to not bother calling and hung up on me. I have to wonder if that approach is really the best one to successfully track down individuals. My years of working with inmates taught me that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

I have no doubt that your company must employ aggressive tactics to meet your mandate to receive your cut of the collection. However, I have at no time in my life EVER been in a financial position that required communications with a collection agency. I have not given consent to be a point of contact between Ms. Bryant and your company and DO NOT EVER want to be contacted by any representative of Takhar, other than receiving a written apology for bearing the brunt of unacceptable, rude behavior.

Rest assured, if Ms. Bryant should contact me, I will pass on Amy's message and my dissatisfaction of this situation that has been forced upon me.

UPDATE:
We received a letter today from a Florida Government Agency complaining about NAFS Of Canada.

www.canadian-money-advisor.ca or any of its principals, employees, etc have any relationship with any collection agencies, creditors, credit bureaus or any other company or entity that is discussed on this site.

Please DO NOT forward us any documentation that is meant for any of the companies listed on this site.
