![]() What is a Care Giver?There are many people in the world who need basic care for their day to day activities. This may be due to many reasons like disability or some kind of illness. Thus they receive aid from a care giver. Some might hire a paid care giver from an organization or independent care givers. There are also huge demands of both physical and mental strength in providing care; the care givers are meeting the requirements. Some of their jobs are quite outstanding. Who is a Care GiverA care giver refers to any person who constantly helps others who are in need of basic help. There are two types of care givers. The formal one is the one who works for a payment and is employed by a specific organization. The other form is informal care giver. He is someone who is from the same family of the person who requires care. His main motive is to provide service to the one in need. Care giver’s jobs are to assist the basic activities like taking bath, dressing up, helping in preparing food and purchasing day to day items. Some of the care givers are also responsible for giving proper medications in time, doing checkups and other activities involving elderly healthcare. One of the major problems faced by the care givers are about abusing the elder persons. On an average, about 85% of cases have been recorded on abuse by the care givers. Many are from the same family as the people who are taken care of. Some of the abuses are mostly related to effects due to stress. About 5-23% of the care givers are complained to be physically abusive to the older people. The Canadian care giver’s association termed as CCA is a well known nonprofit organization. This Canada Care giver’s Associations were formed to protect the Canadian families. They protect their rights and they take care of the actions and the misbehavior of the care givers in Canada. They promote awareness to address the requirements of the Canadian families and all the care givers in Canada. They work to protect the rights of the care givers and also to create awareness among the Canadian families to hire care givers who are more reliable and the ones who are employed by a proper organization which is strictly under Canadian laws. They help in creating awareness among Canadian families by coming out with newsletters, advertisements etc… The Canadian care giver’s associations achieve these goals by conducting various programs all over Canada. These programs are mainly focused on promoting care giving to the Canadian families. These programs are the backbone of the Canada care giver’s association. Many programs are being conducted by the Canadian care giver’s association all over Canada. The care givers and the employers are constantly in touch with the care givers association via telephone, mails etc and always get the help and support that they require. The primary goal of the Canadian care giver’s association is to plead for the care givers rights and the Canadian families. |
