There are different levels of a credit limit that you'll get based on your credit score. IE... for $75.. you could get a credit limit of $250, all the way to $750..

If you have several R9's you'll probably get the $250 limit.. etc

The point is however, that even $250 credit limit still looks good on your credit report!

Not sure how many R9's or my credit score. Should know this week as I have sent away for all three credit reports and should have them by this week.

Why do you ask? Is "guaranteed approval" for the card not exactly what it appears to be?

Yes...
Capital One will except you short of being in bankruptcy proceedings...
Because you're giving them a deposit, you're guaranteeing the credit.

As well, they charge a higher interest rate etc because of the higher risk.

How many R9's on your credit report? And... what is your credit score?

yes, this card will be a good one for you. Sometimes having too much credit can effect your beacon score. For instnace if you had an income of only $40K/yr and you had credit cards, over draft and a line of credit that is worth $100K then you would be a credit risk as you have access to $100K of free money and your income does not even cover it.

Capital one is easy and it is online. So what you do is just buy little things. make sure you already have the money in your bank account to pay the balance. Purchase something on your credit card, then go home and pay it off online right away!

Good luck!

Secured Credit Cards

Postby gns1972 » Sun Jan 27, 2008 10:32:32 AM

Hello: I am new to this website and I find it very interesting.

Would anyone know the impact (positive or negative) of obtaining a secured card(s) on you credit report? In other words, does it raise your beacon score or other scores? Would it be a bad idea to get 2 cards (secured) at once? Is it better to get a secured card amount for $1000+ vs $75 (like Capital One)?

Anyone have some success stories to share with secured cards?

Everyone's feedback is appreciated and welcomed!
