Raymond... I'm disappointed with you.

Let me tell you a story...

A few years back I got a call from RCMP internet crime unit. Apparently somebody stole this lady's private information and then started spraying it across the net. This stolen information was entered on my life insurance site, and that is why the RCMP called. I guess the lady was called by the agents that I work with...

Anyhoo... Getting a call from the RCMP internet crime division regarding stolen identity was pretty scary and time consuming.

Can you imagine if EVERYONE who had privacy issues with collection agencies reported them to the Privacy Commission?!! The feds would have to deal with them, and the collection agencies would have to take time out of their busy lives to deal with the FEDS... wouldn't that be cool?!!

Finally, I think I've found a woman after my own heart - Miss Spricket. You don't see her firing off quotes about PIPEDA, do you?

Look at that guy from the 1st video. You can totally tell from his face that he's an idiot who's enjoying intimidating/threatening weaker ones. The way he talk and his facial expression tells me he's just plain stupid and nasty. Really. Those people prolly had very bad childhood.....

This forum is set up to educate and help people that are in financial ordeal know how to deal with and get out of it. Simply telling people to borrow money to cover their existing debts is very irresponsible and selfish. The intention is to tell people to get money, which they probably can't afford to repay, to cover your bill. So according to Star's logic, using 1 credit card to cover the other is totally ok because it's a "START". Yes a start of another deep hole.

But I'm glad All-Woman is here, so all other people can know about different tactics collectors would use. A collector is always a collector, please don't pretend to be a financial advisor. A financial advisor always look out for their clients' best interest, whereas collectors are the polar opposite.

Can't blame them. Raymond is absolutely right on this one, "Business is business".

(NON)PRIVACY LAWS

Postby Raymond » Thu Feb 07, 2008 04:31:57 PM

Some people are caught in a time warp; there are no such things as privacy laws anymore; indeed, if there ever were. People who claim there are have never taken the time to read a single "privacy agreement."

Stop right now: before responding, go and read a privacy agreement - ANY PRIVACY AGREEMENT; your bank's, your credit card's, your phone company's: really read it; it will invariably tell you in convoluted legalistic jargon all the ways in which you are agreeing to have your privacy violated. And believe me, it will be.

The only real privacy left on the planet is a priest in a confessional box - and we all know hardly anyone believes in that; but really, seriously, that's absolutely it, I kid you not.

Nah, no one pays any attention to PIPEDA, assuming they can even spell it. I gotta go with the Spricket sisters who "Gillian25" introduced me to a couple of weeks ago. If I were a collector, I'd really be worried about those gals.
