By the way, here's a current post on Bud Hibbs' website about one of his favorite collection lawyers. He seems to be taking the words out of my mouth, as if he's psychic. True, it's in the U.S., but death, taxes and collection agents respect no borders.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bud Says…

What do you call a bottom feeder that is collecting for a bottom feeder? A collection agency? A parasite? I would call them future unemployed debt collectors as the market of debts available to collect continues to shrink. My first glimpse at this organization was a letter sent out that shows the name; ‘Meridian Management Solutions’ with an 888# and a PO Box in Carson, CA.

When I ran the name through several search engines nothing came up, no CA or NV corporations, no license, no bonds no nothing. When I called the 888# the recorded response was…”You have reached The Minority Legal Network…” HUH? …This is a debt collector! So why are they going to so much trouble to hide that fact?

In their letter they state: “…or call our Law Firm at 888-459.0999 and work out arrangements for payment” Unfortunately Meridian Management Solutions is NOT a law firm, it is a collection agency posing as “Minority Legal Network” which is REALLY the debt collection law office of Debt Collector Attorney E___L___B____, CA attorney bar #180683.

Apparently she must not be that good at collecting debts or she would not be working for one of the worst bottom feeders in America, Resurgent Capital, aka LVNV Funding, Greenville, SC for a commission of 25% of what is collected. She is also misleading consumers in her letters which will delight consumer attorneys who choose to litigate her obvious shortcomings.

This clearly illustrates why no one should ever deal with a bottom feeders, bottom feeder. There is no guarantee that you will benefit in anyway by sending them money, especially with he terrible reputation of Resurgent/LVNV. We warn anyone who receives calls or notices from this desperate debt collection organization to PASS! The odd of them being around are not good, they already feeding off of someone else, what does that tell you?

Contact me if you need assistance with Debt Collector, Attorney, E___R___B___and her cluster of names, we can offer you assistance.

CAUTION: I recommend that you NEVER disclose your bank account or credit card information to a debt collector, as you risk them emptying your account, or maxing out your credit card. If you feel they are reporting on your credit bureau files in error or need assistance in dealing with them, email me the details and your location. Assistance and referral to a consumer legal specialist may be available.

Yes ranzzz, watch your language about collection agents!!!

Postby Raymond » Fri May 09, 2008 07:26:42 PM

Yes ranzzzz, watch your language. We are not allowed to disrespect what collection agents do. They serve a useful purpose......just as scavengers and other collection agencies do.

In any event, here's a reprint of my July 3, 2007 post on what media star commentator and America's most prominent observer of collection agencies, Bud Hibbs had to say about the industry.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Subject: LIARS, LAWYERS, CON MEN & THIEVES - BUD HIBBS SPEAKS OUT ON WHAT'S UNDER A COLLECTOR'S REPTILIAN SKIN (WHY IT'S A REPTILE, OF COURSE!)

The Debt Collector-Money Beggars

LIARS, LAWYERS, CON MEN & THIEVES

AGENCY COLLECTORS (BEGGARS)

Agency collectors have correctly been deemed the worst-type of collection agents! They operate from a computer database containing all your personal information, provided to them by the original creditor. When an outside agency gets your account, it has been 'charged-off' for non-payment. They make calls as fast as the auto-dialer can picking up the first one that hits a live voice and letting the rest go as annoyance calls. That's why sometimes you get only a recorded message telling you to call about a very important matter. Commission is their livelihood; they don't have time for pleasantries or obeying the law.

An agency collector's commission ranges from 15-25% of what they can extract from you. Most are paid bonuses if they hit a quota and steady, hard-working collectors can make $40-60K per year. The majority will bring in much less because they routinely step over the line to increase their take.

Who Seeks a Career as a Debt Collector?

In a industry where deception, craftiness, and deceit are rampant, you might imagine most honest people would seek work elsewhere. And you're right. My experience says the average debt collector is male, has a large ego, bounces from job to job, suffers low self-esteem and enjoys using the telephone as an instrument of empowerment. You shouldn't be surprised to find most of them have great debt problems themselves.

The debt collection business is plagued with high employee turnover. Constant training of new collectors puts great strain on the agencies and the employees. Every moment someone is in training is time lost on the phone. You can imagine the shortcuts that are taken to get a new caller on the floor as soon as possible.

Collectors see themselves in a position to take advantage of those they deem weaker, in
an effort to overcome their own insecurities. They normally will talk-over any issues you may have, threaten and intimidate you, lie, misrepresent themselves, abuse, annoy and attempt to push you as far as they can. After all, a portion of what they collect from you becomes theirs. Unfortunately, far too few consumers complain about debt collectors overstepping their bounds, because they are intimidated or embarrassed about their dilemma. Over the years I've dealt with literally thousands of collectors and suggest that only 2 out of 10 are honest and hard working. The greater percentage are deadbeat scum either just out of, or heading back into a jail cell. Collecting is a male dominated business and because of the shortage of skilled workers, agencies are hiring anyone who can walk and chew gum to make their calls. Social skills, education and career orientation are NOT normally the prerequisites for a debt collector – money beggar position.

Bud Hibbs

Editor's note: I agree with everything Bud Hibbs says; however, in saying that only 2 out of 10 collectors are honest, I think Hibbs' assessment is out by 20%.

Oh stop calling yourself a witch; people will think you work at the Natale Law Office. (See the posts "Which Witch is Which?" on thread 457, circa May 22, 07).

Getting rid of ARO's nasty calls is duck soup, especially if it involves the characters working in the Kelowna, BC office. A lot of hot air, but they fold like a house of cards. See "Caught On Tape"s remarks or my "K.I.S.S.ing" game posts.

Let me tell you about ARO, I make monthly payments I have never missed one, but be a day late and they are all over me. I know I have to pay my debt and I am doing it, but I am constantly harrassed , called 3 times a week to increase my payment, I was told to quit smoking then i could pay my bill, i don't smoke, I was called a thief and a liar and when i ask for a supervisor there are none available , if you callback you re conveniently told that person has gone on to bigger and better things , like what satan's little helper.

I have asked for agent ids and get hung up on and of course there is no record of my call or the call I got.
I have offered payments and had them refused , I have actually asked if they are refusing my payment and they said they arent saying that , I said then what are yous aying and they said well its not enough, I said well its all your getting and if you dont accept it thats refusal, they accepted

they somehow got my work phone number and started calling me there.

they only stopped because I involved the OPP. Im sure they'll start again though.

I could go on and on
And thats all this Witch has to say Witch Hazel

Hey Folks,

Let's watch the language.

Where as most of us have a high amount of disrespect for the collection industry, they do serve a purpose in the market place...

Some collectors are more ruthless than others.
