You should likely contact equifax and transunion and tell them about your situation before these guys try and register on your mortgage. I'm not a lawyer but you might be protected by the statute of limitations - I would recommend talking to a lawyer (it could save you some real money).

It was insured and the debt iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency says I owe is NOT owed to the bank but CMHC.

That obviously doesn't sound right.. If the CMHC has paid the debt, why is there a question about it?

Do you have proof that CMHC actually paid the debt?

CHMC insured mortgage

Postby PEICanada » Mon Oct 15, 2007 12:20:15 PM

In 1998 the bank that I had my mortgage with got paid their outstanding amount that I owed from CMHC as my mortgage was CMHC insured. Now 3445 days, yes almost 10 years later I got a letter from iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency for the outstanding amount. Nobody has contacted me since 1998 until now. Not only do they want the outstanding amount, $19,000 but they want over $9,000 more in interest. Should this account be status barred or stat barred??? I have never given anyone a single cent toward this debt. This was on my credit report, but has since disappeared. Does anyone know any of the laws pertaining to this. I am in PEI
