Awhile ago as in 6 months ago... 2 years ago... 6 years ago?

Raymond actually knows more about Ontario laws than me, but that information will give us an idea about what your risks are... whether you even CAN be sued.

My suggestion, for now, tell them to resend the original letter and tell them you want a breakdown of the charges/payments/etc on this account. They must give you that.

The last payment to my credit card was a while ago, and I had explained my situation to the credit card company, and we had set up an arrangement, and then I start getting these calls from Canadian Debt Recovery, harassing me. These calls have been very recent, like in the past couple weeks, and I am in Ontario.

Has anyone ever dealt with this company? They have been constantly harassing me, when I told them I never received the original letter, they said, in not so many words, that I am lying to them. They threaten legal action, without no letter delivered to me, they tell me they are going to take everything I own to collect on this debt. They expect me to pay my outstanding balance in full right away, which if I had that kind of money, I would have already done it. When I try to make payment arrangements with them, they refuse my payments, saying it has to be a lump sum payment, and I am not making unreasonable payment arrangements. This company is nothing but rude and intimidating to me. I just wanted to know if anyone else has had to deal with them, and what kind of treatment you have gotten from them.
