I would wait and let them contact you again.
Until you receive something in writing from some one saying the account was sold and to who and all the other particulars regarding this debt.

If this account is now with a 3rd party collection agency...by law they must first send you a letter saying so before calling you. Problem is the law really has no teeth as it does not seem to get enforced.

Next time they call...and they will ask them to send you proof of the debt before you are going to make any offer to settle.
Until you receive an actual Statement of Claim from the courts their threat of legal action is just that.... a threat. A very common practice of collection agencies.

I did call MBNA and the debt was sold, but I do not have any paperwork from anyone, seeting out who bought it and so forth. Do I contact them or wait for them to contact me again? Appreciate the help.

First of all they can not put a lien on your house untill they sue you and win a judgment. Then to satify the judgment they could place a lien which would hinder your selling or re financing the mortgage.
I find it very hard to believe this account was sold after only 3 mths.

Sounds more like a scare tactic to intimidate you into making payment.

The last payment was August 2012, I was 3 months behind and working with MBNA, apparently the debt was sold Sept. 13, 2012.

when was the last time you made a payment on this debt....please be specific.

I received a phone call that my debt with MBNA has been sold to CCL and as of this Friday it will be sent for legal action. This person was apparently a mediator for CCL. I do not have any paperwork from this company. The debt itself is approx. $6000. Apparently, they are going to put a lien on my house, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
