Yes they come off after 6 years.
It will help your score not to have the r9,s but there are more factors involved in a credit score.

They are my accounts unfortunately :(

I mean after 6 years these debts will go off right? Does that mean my credit will improve at that time?

So I called Rogers, got both account numbers and most current collection agencies. Apparently they are not on my credit report yet. So now my questions are :

1. What shall I do to remove the old collection agencies?
2. How to deal with new agencies before they report it to credit bureau?

Thanks a lot.

Thanks, TJ. Shall I get validation from collection agencies listed on my report since they are not the one who's collecting the debt any more? And then I can dispute all of them?

You will need to contact Rogers and get account numbers and the name and address that they were assigned to.

There is another one on my report says PAID, here is the detail for another Rogers account:

ROGERS COMMUNICATION
Phone Number: (877)764-3772

High Credit/Credit Limit:

Type of Account: Open

Past Due: $0.00
Date Opened: 2010-09

Date of Last Activity: 2011-02
Status: Paid as agreed and up to date

Date Reported: 2011-03
Months Reviewed: 04
Payment History:

No payment 30 days late
No payment 60 days late
No payment 90 days late
Prior Paying History:
Comments: Closed at consumer request
Account paid

I think this is the one I met when I cancelled my individual account and put me and my wife in her account as a family account. But everything in this individual account was clean.

Other than that, there is only the account I mentioned in my first post.

I am also afraid there might be a mix up in identity and I am suffering from other people's fault. How do I find out?

I know I can't get it off my credit report, but will Rogers sell it to another collection agent and I get hit again for another collection account?

Now this debt is from 2008....way past Statute of Limitations which is 2 years, so the good news is they can not sue and win. However the debt still exists but they have no means of collecting except to hound you. Who ever said pay it and it will come off report is lying. The best that will happen is a notation would be added that says paid.
Seems you had several accounts if you made a payment in 2010/3.
Even if thats true it too has passed the SOL.
Did you have 2 rogers accounts?
