Let's hope it was the long Equifax URL that I posted for blogger Bonnie Sousa; if so, then the problem is solved. However, that might not have been the difficulty. It seems that I was getting partially blanked out postings on some threads since last Friday and that posting occurred 2 days later on Sunday. Further, I checked some older unrelated threads by various other bloggers in the past and some (but not all) came up blanked out. Perhaps it was because you were using Firefox and most other bloggers had IE; I dunno.
Additionally, that long url I posted was not a clickable link. You would have had to copy and paste it into the address bar. I tried the shorter clickable link from Equifax's site, but when I pretested it before posting, it wouldn't go through, thus making it necessary to post the longer one. Anyhow, no matter what browser it was, it wasn't recognized as a url.
I felt it was important to post it because the statement was made that you needed to have 2 active credit cards in order to get a report but that simply isn't true. You will need a credit card to get an online report and credit score though. But to get a free written report mailed to you it's unnecessary. Otherwise, anyone who was bankrupt or had bad credit wouldn't be able to obtain a credit report.
The request application pdf form, available online, can be printed off and states right on it which forms of ID are acceptable. Ditto for TransUnion, as they both used the same generic forms last time I applied.
So it's easy to get free copies of your credit reports. Trying to get them to correct all the errors is quite another matter. It can turn into a career.
